Right place now - David's commentary on semiology obviously involves a clever reference to Nietzsche's "Man and Superman," thus showing again that language can only refer to itself. Sadly, I happen not believe this, BTW.
I have posted the format for Book # 4 that DVS and I decided on into the waiting list/address list discussion so that all the Asemic 16 # 4 comments stay in one discussion - people are getting lost! - They're not the only ones - me too!!! ANY problems - let me know. Although of course some of you will begin working on this collaboration, PLEASE do not post until the list is finalized - this will prevent mis-posting to participants who withdraw and cause ADMIN!!! :-))! Heather is back on the list for Book # 3 - WELL DONE HEATHER!!! So I have inserted her address back into that discussion. Thanks everyone - I'm going to the PO - I HOPE there are some more Wandering Asemics in there!
Cheryl and Lisa i recieved the Asemic 16-1 book today. Thank you so mush, still enjoying them with a cup of coffee. love the diversity of asemic aprouches every one takes.
To all my Asemic # 1 partners i posted all the books today. Hope you all get it soon. I allready have five books with me; "E", Diane Keys, Rob, Lisa and Cheryl. Thanks !!!!!!
Today, I receive the packet from Cheryl with her work and the work of John Bennett. This is exciting. 12 more to arrive. I hope mine arrive at their destinations, too. (only half sent so far.)
I was having fun making asemic two in the assumption I made 16 copies by hand and counted them several times. And this morning I noticed I miss 4 copies.woeha.
I cant find them any where. So before sending out the other 12 I'm off to make 4 more. And yes I know after putting them all in the mail I will find the four I'm looking for now.
Today I received a wonderfull chapter for ASEMIC 1 from Cheryl... Thank you!!!

i received from E, diane, lisa, and someone in whoever it was from australia??
i started printing mine out and had some real issues with quality.
i've gone through a bunch of different papers and nothing prints like i like it.
i'm sending them anyways since i don't have the money to get this to perfection, but i'm not really quite happy with the overall results. i wish there were photo quality double-sided paper, but i've looked and looked for something decent and nothing i've found works! the last option i can think of it getting regular photo paper and scotch-taping it shut so it has two pages flat against each other. but i'm just going with the card stock instead.
i'll think about printing out 4x6" prints for everyone, but money is really tight right now, so if you do get prints i hope you feel very special! ;-D
in other news, i've finally given up on my digital asemic writing series.
I received chapters from E and Nadine. Thank You!! They are fascinating to look at.
Mine are printed, envelopes addressed, hope to post them next week. Like superhero, I'm not happy about the quality. I tweaked settings in the original scan but the printer wouldn't cooperate. I would love to know what kind of printers/paper E & Nadine used. They have two completely different qualities. Nadine's is sharp while E's feel like handmade paper. Are ya'll up for sharing?
FAB to see all the work crossing the globe :-) - Angie - your pages arrived for Asemics # 3 - THANK YOU!!! Questions to be answered here people - E and Nadine??? Thank you all for your ongoing comments :-) x
Matthew Stolte in Wisconsin, USA sent me this piece titled "This is Visual Poetry." I won't quibble with that. I wanted to post it here because there are some beautiful little symbols here that could be easily developed into asemic writing. Great example of work by an active visual poet:
Amy Irwen answered my question on paper in my Mail of the Living Dead group and tells me that epson makes a DOUBLE-SIDED presentation paper. so i was on the right track ordering presentation paper from epson, but apparently there are two versions. i'm very sorry i messed this up, but there is no going back now as almost all of them have been printed already.
but on the bright side, my zombies will be beautiful! ;-D
DVS, Thanks for posting Matthew Stolte's piece in this forum. It's packed full of ideas. I agree that it reads Asemic. Personally I like it as is shown - in it's raw glory.
Received my pages from "E" yesterday and am blown away by the people who do each one uniquely. The pages are really terrific. Plus the individually done envelopes, wow. thanks.
Yesterday I picked up my first big batch of asemic chapters at the PO from names mentioned by others. I still have to take inventory, but all seems to be well.
Good evening Sheril and keepers of De Villo Sloan of the project!!))) misters if I don't take from you some time, I like to learn more about your global project to the Books Аsemic 16. I very much liked yours concept, it, Game in beads "reminds me my favourite German author Hermann Hesse". In a blog you have written from an ohm when the complete set of books 16 will gather, there will be an exhibition or already was in Rome (whether has understood I know correctly?) it would be desirable more to study or read the information on your project. I thought that interaction with the international artists - a great honor and is glad to me, and there is it, has continuation - an exhibition. Thanks you for diligence and the global project sincerely yours Svetlana Pesetskаyа.))
Svetlana, you're the best! Your message says Cheryl is my keeper, which is so true. Great question - let me respond a bit later. Best wishes, DVS

@svetlana: as one of the keepers of DVS, i am honored in your interest in asemic 16; we will offer sacrifice shortly at which time we will have the answer from the asemic gods. then we will feast. ;-D
The asemic zombies are fascinating, yet incomprehensible. They have sharp teeth, yet soft edges. Just like DVS. And I thought I was his keeper? Whut is up with that? And why does DVS need so much keeping?

we're still accepting membership for Zombie Book #1,
and if you'd like more time, we're taking folks for Zombie Book #2 as well, which will have a due date of Halloween!!!

De Villo Sloan, your question about me and asemic writing is insightful. From looking at some (wonderful!) here, I realize it was a significant part of my work about ten or fifteen years ago, and likely somewhat even before. I was unaware of a name and, who knows why, stopped doing it on/in/as actual artwork, but it shows up in sketchbooks and odd slips of paper all the time. Your group and what you are doing here is really thrilling to me.
Recieved the Asemic #1 chapter of Frieder Speck from germany today. Love his integration of animal drawings to the asemic writing pages. Each one has it's own voice, sound, writing !!!! Thanks Frieder.
