Comics in mailart

There is no group about comics in mailart or mailart with comic-elements yet.

As some people wrote in their profile they are interested in/ like comics: here is the group for it.

Have fun :)

and feel free to join / invite more members

  • Re Schmi

unfortunately I did not take pictures of the comic-art I sent yet. But here is a card from Willemien with comic-elements - also on the stamps. :)

she told me Eric de Noorman is a comic strip from the netherlands.

It would be nice to have a Funnies Section in Mail Art News

  • Re Schmi

that would be cool! so: if there is anybody who would like to create some comics / panels for us...here are some people who would be more than happy about it. :)

  • Re Schmi

until now I did some collages with elements of comics (but I have no photos). let's see what we'll find here in the future.. :)

  • Mail Art News

Thanks. I will check here for any comics that show up.

Now, what's funny about mail art?

  • Mail Art News

While looking for mail art comics, found very few examples. Almost none, but that is to be expected. Here's one from an artist named Dexter Cockburn.

  • Mail Art News

These characters should be in comics about mail art.

  • Re Schmi

thank you for posting. they are so cute! :)

  • Re Schmi

I prepared a bunch of different envelopes. This one I can already show.

  • Re Schmi

thank you for joining dear Maxima, and welcome :)

  • Theo Nelson

Comics and cartoons?  I have to join!

  • Re Schmi

yay, cool Theo! Many thanks. :) and welcome to the group! I started to read the story with the Barbarian on your website..funny. :) Would love to read that story as a comic.

  • Re Schmi

the german post office offers marvel stamps at the moment. They make a whole series "Superhelden" (super heroes). Spiderman ist sold out. But I have Black Panther at the moment and am waiting for the other ones (in september: Iron Man, in november: captain marvel). I'm not a big marvel fan but as it's not always easy to find nice stamps they have at least the comic theme :)

  • Theo Nelson

Hi Rebekka! Superhero comics lost their appeal for me back when Steve Ditko stopped doing Spiderman. :) Still, anything cartoon on a stamp is great.
I am impressed you are reading the Blundar Chronicles. Stanton as a text typeface and Blundar’s phonetic spelling makes it a bit of a slog. I notice the twelfth episode has a broken link. If you get through the first eleven, tell me. I will send you the final episode.
I can’t remember how to relink files to the site. It’s twenty years old!
  • Re Schmi

    Ho Theo!

    Blundar funny guy! :D

Thank you - would be happy to read the final..
