Is that copper foil on the postcards from James Chester?
Aug 22, 2023
Thom Courcelle
It is copper foil, Susan! It is straight-edged and if I carefully peel it away, it is sticky just like washi tape. So I assume that James found this thin sheet metallic tape in some secret specialty shop, and completely edged the piece with it. I have never seen a product like it, but the effect its stunning!

I recognize the copper tape--It's used in stained glass to edge pieces so the solder will stick... I used to work for a stained glass artist... long ago... my job was to sit and wrap pieces with this type of tape! :)

Regarding the copper foil - try finding it in a stain glass supply store. It comes in different widths. It is used to wrap around the edge of the stain glass. Then, float solder on it and when two pieces of stained glass are so prepared they can be soldered together.
