  • Rebecca Guyver

Fabulous to see this Angie and wow, Cheryl, you are amazing!

  • cheryl penn

Hey gals :-). Angie - thank you for going to the bother of making the video - I hope you're sending more work? There is another GENERAL mail art makes the world a town on the go as more work is arriving.  Rebecca - sad to report the other package has still not arrived - BUT I have not given up hope. If it arrives - well, there's a home for it.  Carina and Claire - yours will be posted tomorrow X

  • Suus in Mokum

What a wonderful project. Congratulations all.

  • vizma bruns

Good one Angie! How cool, I've never seen one of these collab books! Oooh, and those stamps on the envelope, too gorgeous!

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Back. Behind in e-v-e-r-y-thing, but want to say Zine 1 has arrived here and is too exciting to say rightly. Spectacular--works by artists, Cheryl's cover and putting-together of the whole publication, and Les's help with that. Thank you all, more than I can say.

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

Well, you've really outdone yourself Cheryl! Once again, thanks so much for the great idea & all your wondrous work. (I can't wait! ^_^)

  • cheryl penn

Pages from Bernd Reichert (Belgium) - sorry i did not post these earlier - but they were busy being bound before I realized I had not taken photographs - beautiful as you can see, with a lot of thinking and time behind the design - lucky for all of us its a double spread :-):

  • cheryl penn

And today from Guido Vermeulen (Belgium) - the most beautiful set of Zine pages for # 4.  AND I received the original paintings.  Like Bernd, Guido puts huge amounts of time and effort into his pages - they make Zine collation a joy. MANY thanks Guido.

One of the original collages - they have a perfectly iridescent quality.

  • cheryl penn

DRAT! Sorry - I loaded the same image twice - here is the other page:

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

Gorgeous once again Guido! Do you sweat painting?

  • cheryl penn

My first correspondence from this artist Dao Badao (Switzerland) is a good luck for the Zine contributors too.  There is another general edition of Mail Art Makes the World A Town.

More pages from Katerina Nikoltsou - many thanks :-) X

  • cheryl penn

A great (as usual!!) package from TICTAC (Germany) - Zine pages for the Asemic Zine and a sheet of her wonderful fauna Quindi Island stamps :-) XX

  • Nancy Bell Scott

    Great great great pages.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

So glad to see that the pages for the "general edition" of World/Town have arrived! No monkey business :-)

Those are wonderful pages from TicTac...minimal and dynamic!

  • cheryl penn

Hello you two :-) - yes, another good one - Fancy Bell - you're sending more pages??

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

Wow, great pages indeed (now I want to be part of the Asemic too! %_^)

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Hi! Cheryl!, you're calling me out of a hiding place. :--} Yes,but the right wording would be "I'm planning to send more pages." They mostly don't exist yet other than mentally. Where are we? I'll message you.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

How is my count for the Zines for the October 15 exhibit, Cheryl?

Zines 1-2-3: Mail Art makes the World a Town.

    Zine 4 : Asemic World ... Town.

    Extra Edition (#5): World... Town

Is there now the makings of one more zine????

    A zine #6 ??? :-) Let me know!

  • Rebecca Guyver

    So much fabulous stuff!

  • cheryl penn

Katerina - the first 3 Zines are complete - the others are waiting to be filled. I am uncertain how many more will be filled before the exhibition - as with most of these projects there is an initial rush before tapering off into a more manageable exercise.  Zine # 3 has been mailed.

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

lord, looks like the Asemic Zine is going to be stellar indeed chere cheryl!! How much longer do you think you will be accepting pages for it (what's the status)...?

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

oh: and who is Rr Anon (PaRrys)?

  • Not Hi Ng

I just received my copy of Mail Art Makes the World a Town, Edition III. Absolutely mind blowing. I'm so proud to have been able to be a part of such a great project.

  • cheryl penn

Claire - I'm guessing Rr Anon is anonymous - its the first I've heard of this artist - ParRys is a 'drop' (small town) in the Orange Free State - generally spelt Parys - but I'm guessing being anonymous has all sorts of benefits - like spelling anything the way you please :-).  Not Hi Ng - don't be proud just once! Send again and be proud TWICE!! For sure, thanks to the contributors this has been a wonderful project :-) X

P.S. Claire - I have 7 submissions to Town Asemics in a Mail Art World - I know there are more coming - so theres time - but its going to be a beaut :-) X
