Cheryl's new aesthetics school book has some great approaches to vispo

Finished the original art works for this project. Still have to make the 16 edition, so be patient. Choose as tribute artist Henri-+ MICHAUX, each Vispo is connected with letter of his name H M I C H A U X and a quote from his writings I translated from the French. Those who are familiar with VISPO will understand immediately why I choose these reflections from the Jasmin Man (Unica Zurn’s positive love model was Michaux; the negative however was the man with whom she was living: Hans Bellmer whom she called the garbage man; As a man I have always find this extremely difficult to understand: why women choose to live with their torturers instead with the ones they really love and admire but that is not part of the reflections of my contribution; I repeat below the quotes by Michaux in case you cannot read them well:

Drugs bore us with their promised paradise.

That they give us wisdom instead because we are not living

    a century away from paradise.

    Henri Michaux

Once I was a word that tried to move with the speed of thought

    Henri Michaux

I started drawing to liberate myself from words

    Henri Michaux

In the night in the night I was one with the night

in a night without limits in the night

    Henri Michaux

It is wrong to think that thought can be expressed by words.

They are not satisfactory ways of expressions!

Gestures, mime, sounds, lines and colors,

those are primitive, pure and direct ways of expression.

    Henri Michaux

    Draw without any particular intention,

    doodle machinewise,

almost always faces appear on paper

    Henri Michaux

Mankind, look to yourself in the mirror of paper

    Henri Michaux

Faces of childhood, faces that do not believe

that everything is solved by the passage to becoming adult

    Henri Michaux

    Hello,

I'm posting this because many of you participated in the successful Photobooth Performance project or you may be a book collector. The free ground shipping code is ending for this book and the artistamp catalogs (or any of my Lulu books). The code is WHOASHIPPING. My discount prices will last through Feb 7th. Let me know what you think about the books. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/ginnylloyd

Angi, nope, no reject in sight :-) X

  • cheryl penn

Janine - only 15 people per book :-) - some people are corresponding/swopping with people that they already mail to? But that has nothing to do with this collaboration. :-) X

  • cheryl penn

Never mind - I will post you another piece of painting - that will cheer you up :-)))XX

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Wow! Angie...that lady did some feat of creativity: 365 books!!!

    KALO MINA! ΚΑΛΟ ΜΗΝΑ!

  • De Villo Sloan

Hello Vispo Comrades, both my chapters are mailed (#1 - dedicated to Karl Kempton & #2 - dedicated to Jackson Pollock). Give it a few days and contact me if it hasn't arrived.

So please - no nagging from the peanut gallery and self-appointed deadline Nazis.

I seem to be getting all the chapters, although haven't taken a precise inventory. As with Asemics 16, I will write intros for both volumes.

  • Cleveland Wall

Very quiet one checking in. I am on it, though running a tad late. Sorry! Will post tomorrow.

  • cheryl penn

Glad we're on track:-) - thanks for checking in - any other quiet ones want to whisper where they are?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Yes, Vispo One from KDJ arrived in Greece today!Thank you xxx

And now there are 10! One little, two little, three little boekies...

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

KDJ, I am having fun to "pick my po"! Great little phrases in a tiny envelope!

  • De Villo Sloan

Hi all, I blogged Rebecca Guyver's chapter. I think she did some really interesting work

  • cheryl penn

Participants of the Vispo collaboration - Good morning :-) - its time to call this project a day.  I know that there is work out there in the mail, but some participants have been very quiet and we've heard nothing. Queries are coming in - so if you have work outstanding or not even posted, please let us know so that we can begin the wrap.  Many thanks to those who were timeous :-) X

  • De Villo Sloan

For documentation on Angie Cope's Cornell chapter please see

    http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profiles/blogs/received-angie-cope-s-...

Cornell is a great but he is hard to dig into and I think Angie hit the mainline of solid gold. I guess Snooks sat out this project. Too bad; it might have made him famous. I LOVE Cornell, this chapter, and Visconsin.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

You gotta be kidding, Angie! We are close to the finish line for Vispo, but there are still several who have not sent. It would be sooooo nice, just once with the collab books, to have a complete set= pages  from ALL!

Number 11 arrived here in Greece :-)

Thank you, Sloan!  The middle pages are stuck together...wet glue when packed  in envelope? But a fantastic tribute to JacPo!!!

  • DKeys

no problem KDJ--your pages were staggering. So professional and inventive thank you. Also received DVS's DVSes? pages last week and they are super engaging--there are five I have not yet received
