Where are all of you?? Now that summer is there for you have all forgotten us down here in S hemisphere and we are cold and needing communication!!! How are the books going?
  • cheryl penn

Lesley :-) - yes it SURE is MIZ here! Yes - good question - how ARE the books going? And where are the pics of the finished ones on Lesley's discussion?? I think everyone is out enjoying spring or something while we begin to hibernate!
  • Rosa Gravino

Solo me faltan algunos capítulos para completar mi libro.

Me encantó éste proyecto.

  • cheryl penn

Rosa - thank you :-) - please name which chapters you do not have - perhaps the artists can make copies for you. It will be great to see this book go on exhibition at the end of the year - COMPLETE! - thank you :-)

    We need 12 people.

  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

What ever happened to the Windmills of your Mind project??? I received boekies from Lauriana, Cheryl, Marie, Katerina and Angie ages ago....where are the rest? Who has dropped out? I want to bind it!
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Just saw your message tonight,Lesley, about The Windmills. I, too, was hoping to collect them all and bind them into a boekie...however, two have never arrived: from Sloan and from TestTower :-(
  • Gabriel Xiloj

Question, i like creating artbooks, isn't it expensive to co-create and send several copies out to other participants. To 12 or 16 others.

Not that i am stingy, but not well off either, yes i am very honest.

  • cheryl penn

Gabriel - some of the projects have involved 16 x 4 people - THAT got expensive for sure :-) - I will be placing another call here soon - but, completion of the Asemic books is first priority.  Katerina and Lesley, Marie, Angie, Lauriana - how about each of us making another contribution and then binding? Or whoever WANTS to can just post to each other? I agree its a little thin still. I am happy to make another set?
  • cheryl penn

¡Buenos días Samuel - SI! ¿Espero otro trabajo cooperativo de libro - participará? Sólo quiera conseguir UN libro de asemic completado y bloguea la encuadernación. Tenga un el domingo bueno :-) X (Google Translation!!)
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

ANOTHER "Windmills"? sure...maybe next week...gotta slice some onions for it " ( "like a circle in a spiral...;-) 'Will add a bit of the new asemic, too!

But finishing up a new mini series first:

    Is that ok, hmmmm?

  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

    Looking good Katerina!
  • E

    Hi Cheryl,

I want to participate to the next collaborative book project.

    *-*

  • cheryl penn

Lauriana - you ARE excused - you have sent two already - a GOOD example for us to follow :-)
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

The wind is still blowing in the windmills of Mykonos...

and in the reeds and "tall Greek blue grass" by my shack...

and the tune is still in the circles -of-my-mind!

  • John M. Bennett

and the letters are still on the wall...
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Super, John! there is that elusive "B"...or not to B?
  • cheryl penn

Ahh,  the moment - OnWord John has given the clue to the next collaborative book, does he, does he not know????  But we have to keep you all in suspenders until at least ONE of the Asemic Books is FINISHED! I think E serves well!  I also think E  has the MOST copies of the asemic books!! I'm a tad jealous to say the least!!! In a good way of course :-) - I hope you're keeping an eye on E's blog! :-) X
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Asemics #4 from Cheryl.... great use of new materials - grey plastic pages covered in Cheryl's ininimate scrawly writing and symbols. A good start to our books! Thanks Cheryl.

I know most of you are still in production of #4 so hope this inspires you!

  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Sorry I just saw there is a reflection on Cheryl's cover so it is hard to see so here's another pic of the front - now you can see that a piece of Pollock has crept into the book, making it VERY VALUABLE!!!!

  • cheryl penn

:-))) - LMF - you make me laugh - YES it is valuable!!! The Pollock painting!! I was wondering if his paintings weren't a form asemic writing - in fact I think they were! Two types of test papers for test writing - photograph test and x-ray test -  :-) X
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

They dont use Xray film anymore - the images go straight onto disc now - so Xray film is also VALUABLE..... save all your old Xrays for mailart!
  • cheryl penn

You're kidding! I will have to pull a few more strings at the hospital...
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Into wood block printing these past days...soooooo "spirals-of-my-maind" coming up for new "Windmills" ;-) (left-over pine wood block pieces, will carve all sides, me thinks!)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

...my main mind? (where is that spell chick?)
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Divine Katerina! My sister has just given me a present of 4 little wood block stamps that she bought for me in London at the V&A museum, not spirals though! William Morris patterns so I will be using them in mail art soon.... I LOVE printed pieces. Looking forward to your next windmills! I havent even thought about what to do.
  • cheryl penn

EEEK!!! I'm getting so far behind :-(!
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Hmmm, let's see, Cheryl: you doing all 4 of the Asemics 16 x 8 x 4 = 212 pages... plus setting up the "World  is a Town" exhibit...plus...teaching...plus!!! You are not "Far behind", you are WAY AHEAD! ;-)
  • cheryl penn

MomKat :-) - thank you PHEW!!! Yes, you're right, I had not  looked at it quite like that - thank you :-) XX
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Just pace yourself, kiddo, we don't want you hitting a wall or anything ;-)

    Relax by a room-with-a-view?

  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

    Yes please! Asemics #5!
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

I don't get notices from the IUOMA groups, etc., in my email inbox, so I must come by the Main Page and check out what's up. That Asemics#5 must have been the faster sign-up in the history of mail art! 'Sorry that Jim had to drop out (yeah, right), but I am IN! (it must be way too early in the morning for me to have just done that ;-0 ) Starting tall, LONG, vertical pages today..."syntax" = a really 100% Greek word, yes siree!
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

FASTEST sign up in mail art history...an the spell check is still sleeping, as I should be, but not.
  • csaba
