Thanks to everyone for their contributions! Sabela, Ruud, and Daniel - I received your contributions, FYI. I will be posting more documentation online, much of it in the form of video, and the links will be shared on IUOMA and the Facebook event. I have just hung everything I have received in the gallery, and it is quite stunning.

Sabela, if you have something to mail, please send it today. I'll keep an eye out for it. Let's not discuss email quite yet. :)

It can be sent by e-mail. Because it takes from Spain and if it is sent on Monday 21 May it does not arrive on May 26. Thank you

Hello IUOMA - There are 10 days until the deadline, and so far there are 42 contributors, which is already many more than I had anticipated. Thanks for those of you who have sent me art for this project, and thanks in advance to those who will.

I am excited to announce that the Vispostal opening will include a reading/performance by two noted poets and artists who have long been involved in mail art, John M. Bennett and C. Mehrl Bennett! They need no introduction here, but see below anyway:

John M. Bennett has published over 400 books and chapbooks of poetry and other materials. He has published, exhibited and performed his word art worldwide in thousands of publications and venues. He was editor and publisher of LOST AND FOUND TIMES (1975-2005), and is Founding Curator of the Avant Writing Collection at The Ohio State University Libraries. Richard Kostelanetz has called him “the seminal American poet of my generation”.

C. Mehrl Bennett is an artist, visual poet, writer/poet, associate editor of Luna Bisonte Prods, performer/writer/pARTicipant in fluxus and works with audio, video, intermedia, digital art, found objects, assemblage, and traditional art materials. She lives in Columbus OH with her poet spouse, John M. Bennett, and they enjoy traveling to participate in art/poetry/flux events.
