well, I always work with recycled cartridges too, and I often print on old magazines and advertising sheets😉😀❗just kidding! I respect Lubomyr's attitude. I sent you a recycled postcard (postcard2026) 5 or 6 days ago and there is an explanation on the back that it was based on your idea and advice.😊
I'm glad that it sparked this conversation... for more raw mail art! :)
I started in the early 1980s with washcloths, pebbles found on the beach, pieces of wood collected from construction sites, slices of stale bread, envelopes cut in half and tied together with string, and indeed there was something to surprise and amaze the recipient. I agree, it should still be the spirit
...for some reason now mail art has turned into an exchange of beautiful pictures. If we look at early mail art, it is always a search for new forms and ideas, manifestos, clumsy texts, the ability to work with "garbage", not being afraid to express your opinion. I wish there were more such experiments on Iuoma.
it immediately attracted my attention too, but I had absolutely different associations. It's nice that we are not deprived of explanations. Thanks also to Maxie Eulig and MH//ANTIPODE
Very cool!!
Oh, well, it’s about the quite infamous witch hunter Matthew Hopkins. More precisely, these lines are part of the lyrics of a song about a soldier whose family was put on trial and executed by him. The soldier then swears to track Hopkins down... If you wanna give it a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1zbJ0G2vZI ... i was listening to it while quickly putting together that page, sry bout that coal directly inside the envelope ;P
