Camino de Santiago Postcard Collection: A Pilgrim’s Journey from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela
In late September through early October, I embarked on the final stretch of the historic Camino de Santiago, walking from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, I documented my pilgrimage through a series of postcards, each stamped with special postmarks that serve as both artistic and spiritual mementos of the journey.
These postmarks were collected from a variety of local establishments and landmarks that line the Camino route—Albergues (pilgrim hostels), bars, cafés, roadside peddlers, churches, and sanctuaries—each offering a unique stamp that authenticated my progress and contributed to the official credentialing of my pilgrimage. These stamps are more than mere ink; they are symbols of hospitality, tradition, and the communal spirit of the Camino.
Adding a personal and creative touch, I used Spanish Artistamps—custom-designed stamps not valid for postage but rich in cultural storytelling. My artistamps featured evocative depictions of Spanish historical events, such as the Surrender of Granada and Queen Juana I of Castile, as well as beloved Spanish comic characters, blending history and pop culture in a vibrant tribute to Spain’s diverse heritage.
Together, these postcards form a visual diary of my Camino experience, capturing the essence of the pilgrimage through art, history, and the heartfelt marks of the people and places that welcomed me along the way.

I filled my notebook and credential passport. Aside from these, I also have 8 pages of paper and stamps that I have stamped all the way from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.
