Hiya Jon,

Thanks for the friendship and that fabulous CD. The power was off yesterday when I received it, so I listened to it today. All of those songs were very cool. My favorite was the Can song, but I liked the Howlin' Wolf and the Muddy Waters ones (I have seen both of them - long ago). Also the "Young Man's Blues" by the awesome force known as the Who (they were so good in those days and even earlier when they were all Mods) - that song has all cylinders firing - the Moon and Entwistle machine being the perfect back drop for that loud sonic blasting Rickenbacker and Daltry. I had forgot how awesome they were. Saw them many times -even the first show I ever saw 1967 - they were all still  wearing brocaded 17th century outfits and looked like some bizarre royalty. Guess you had to be there. Anyway, liked it very much. Our tastes seem to be similar in capriciousness. I'll be sending you something similar soon. Thanks again!

Cheers Jon.

Yes, I love it and it made me look at  The Moroccans.

(Glad it came quickly as I'm finding stuff to the  USA and parts of Europe very slow at the moment. ) But from US does seem quicker !

Hey Jon, I really enjoy that whole Chicago scene too (Thrill Jockey) I saw Tortoise in San Francisco about 5 years ago - Fantastic! Yeah, my tastes are all over the place too. I saw someone mentioning Capt. Beefheart on your page. I have a huge Captain Beefheart poster in my bathroom (from the old days). Anyway, looking forward to hearing your disc. Can't wait, Test.

HI Jon,
First of all, thank you for the mail art I received last week or so. Second, yeah, I would like one of those mixed CD's. I noticed your eclectic tastes are similar to mine. Also, reading your blog was quite fun - great job on that. I know what you mean about your Can remarks. Loved 'em and hated 'em at the same time. I know Holger Czukay (or used to - it's been awhile), but always liked his solo stuff better than Can. I also know what you mean when you mentioned 'Neu' as well. I still get newsletters for them. I like the sixties soul stuff - old hippie stuff, particularly the San Francisco sound and now that I live up in the Northwest, I really am diggin' rockin' blue-grass and roots rocknroll and many other things. Currently, my favorite record is "Car Alarm" by 'The Sea and Cake". Can't get enough of the Sam Prekop and Archer Prewitt guitars. Anyway, I ramble on.

Read about your failure to complete the Alexandrian deal. Ah well, I enjoyed your candor and honesty. And I will be sending something in the post to you very soon. So anyway, can I have one of the CD's?

I shall reciprocate accordingly. Cheers, Test

The soup cans would have been subtle if I was a native Pittsburgher. I am a Bostonian, so I wasn't raised with Warhol as a native son, and didn't get jaded.

goodie, goodie, goodie...can't wait until your mail art comes to Greece! I shall send out a card to you tomorrow that I made with the "tape transfer" from a Greek newspaper! Nothing fancy or advanced, just the image...but what fun!
I have only played with this technique sticking the tape on newspaper...getting the printer's ink up and trying not to get the "paper"...great textures and grainy stuff. You'll have to let me know what you think...see you in the mail! YEAH!

Jon, I have seen your new work posted on a blog or two. I commented on one that Michalis in Greece has on the main page. Your images are amazing and the transfers really give a great texture effect. I played a bit with the tape, just picking up pics from the newspaper, but have not overlapped any. Fun technique and I bet the REAL thing is even better than the scanned images here. great work!
