ZALOP, ZALOPY, ZALOPAS – The Creation of Fluxus Nuances - from Ruud Janssen.

ZALOP – it’s a performance right? Whoever says NO in a deadpan voice, devoid of tone or apposite energy - quiet and sadly whispered or in a loud exclamation?  However it is said,  NO  is a complex word for sure.  ZALOP - the Fluxus word as original score was sent by Ruud on 15th December 2010.  I determined ZALOP to mean  "ABSOLUTELY NO WAY DEFINITELY NOT NADA NIX.  It is essential this word is said in an emphatic tone. Accents do not matter in this regard".  A Group was created to promote the world wide acceptance and use to the word ZALOP.

Two more have arrived. They’re related – they bear the ancestral ZALOP voor-naam - direct translation - front name, as opposed to surname.

ZALOPY:

Sugar And Spice and All Things Nice That’s What ZALOPY is made of. This is the positive gender of ZALOP. The sweet fragrance of ZALOP used in exactly the right context.  Why do I use the word fragrance? Because this word has a scent.  A summer scent of spicy flowers in bloom.  Which you may – or may not be lucky enough to experience – just send me a ZALOPY envelope!

MEANING:

ZALOPY – Positive Determiner of ZALOP.  To be said in the optimistic (and definitely dramatic)  tone of – I SAID ZALOP and I MEANT ZALOP!!!

ZALOPAS:

ZALOPAS – Negative Determiner of ZALOP

The Determiner which is said with the spirit of meanness in a cold flat tone.  When NO is just used deflate and breakdown.  Or when No will be taken as a yes by the hearer - not the listener  obviously.

Ruud, many thanks for the opportunity to participate in another of your performance scores, and thankyou to for creating the opportunity for mail artists all over the word to have contact  :-) X
