When I lived in Germany, Frau Weleda was my landlady and would give me brandy & coke every month when I came to pay my rent.  Little did I know at the time that later in life, I would be recieving Mail Art from her Grandson or that George Clooney would be runing for president of the Erni Fan club.  Amazing how life gives us so many wonderful things.  Thank you very much Erni for this piece, but wait!  There's a B side as well

OH Columbo fans!  Yes, I am also a fan, but I might disappoint you.  I grew up watching the series (reruns) in France, and I got use to the French voice.  Then one time I saw an show in English (American).  I just could not get use to the voice, and hated it.  The guy that does the French voice adds a little something that makes it funnier.

Columbo is (was) very big in France, and awhile back I would run into this Columbo look-a-like with the same car & dog.  I think he was hired to go into business meetings & business conferences.  I haven’t seen him for years now.  Business meetings are less silly these days!  And besides we have Inspector Derek now!

Columbo's car dresses like he does, see? Lovable. I saw Peugeots occasionally in the states (here in New England) in the '60s or '70s but don't know if they're around anymore.

As if you weren't already high in my estimation, Erni. Appreciating Columbo tops it off. I have Netflix streaming and watch them there. It's outdated but who cares? Falk's character is priceless and so his dog, yes. I also have a thing for his car.

I'm with you guys on the Clooney appeal. Yesterday we saw "The Descendants," a very depressing movie with little to no enlightening qualities. Not even a laugh! His range seems small. Erni, you don't mean the Peter Falk "Columbo" by any chance, do you? I *loved* him.
