Received: Puzzling but Wholesome Mail-Art Response from Marie Wintzer (Saitama, Japan)

Mail-art puzzle by IUOMA member Marie Wintzer (Saitama, Japan)

November 30, 2010 - In an earlier blog I identified the pieces above (now assembled correctly) as random collage fragments. Marie had actually been so thoughtful as to include a puzzle she made along with her chapter for "The Crimsoned Giant" mail-art book project. The pieces form a hole, which is a response to my TCG chapter. I just happen to be working on a version of my chapter - similar to the one Marie received - for Batgirl, who is also a part of the project. So this documents the exchange:

I leave it to whomever to draw whatever conclusions they choose. Is one hole better than another? If I have the real hole, is Marie circulating counterfeit holes?

I hope not too many people find out about:

You're too harsh on yourself Sloan. Monkeys don't write blog posts.

Your Holiness, or may I still call you Marie? Your hole is spread across three IUOMA blogs (that's counting the hole I said was not a hole) and on "Marie's Mailbox," where I stumbled upon it yesterday - and immediately broke into a cold sweat understanding the magnitude of my error. By now, you must think I am talking in circles. I have already confessed my inability to recognize and assemble the puzzle - a task fit for a monkey. You made a great piece of mail-art, and I almost missed it. I was blind to your subtle hints that might have helped me. But all's well that ends well. Thank you again for this piece.

A hole is who a hole does.
This is the only counterfeit one so far, but that's actually a good idea, I might run a parallel business of counterfeit holes!
Thanks for re-putting up Sloan! :-))

Is that a half-empty whole or a half-full whole, or a whole-whole? A reel whole? Counter feet whole?
Pondering...
