Received from Dean Marks: a haptic Newman da Leonardo

Newman is an apt name here, because Dean has created a new man: Oh yes. And he did so not only by pasting Paul Newman's popcorn-package face on as the head, but also by cutting out individual popcorns from the package and using them for haptic happy pieces of popcorn in Leonardo da Vinci's (new) man's four hands as well as a fig leaf for the guy's "privates." It's about time, eh?!

I can't fake it. This piece has me chuckling nonstop and does wonders for the morale, and of course why wouldn't it? It is "butter than the original." It even sports, in the corner, a mini-collage of the barcodes Dean is famous or infamous for.

This mail art came about because Dean had a Newman's popcorn box in hand and Leonardo da Vinci in mind, as he describes in his note on the address side. How he makes his note to his recipient look like part of the advertising is anyone's guess, but it's very cool, Dean. Thanks again for another *major* mail-art highlight !

Well it works when I am playing tennis, but maybe that comes later in the 3rd verse?

Dylan meditated on his name (sort of) in "You Gotta Serve Somebody"

You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy
You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy
You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray
You may call me anything but no matter what you say

You’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody

Not a Dylan song but should have been. Dylan had to change his name; otherwise people couldn't name their kids after him, too many syllables (but Zim for short has a ring to it).

Something tells me you've been watching "Laugh-In" tv show re-runs from the U.S.

"Beauties along the Railroad Tracks", wasn't that a Bob Dylan song? (by the way, born in Minnesota by the name of: Robert Allen Zimmerman )  Sock it to me, Sock it to me!

Ha, yes, both words do work. We don't have human beauties along our railroad tracks, so I let him go whenever he wants. Wait, that's what he SAYS. Now don't make me nervous, Dean. Put a sock in it!

Be careful of your husband finding beauties along the railroad tracks.  Good thing you had him on a lease!  Opps? I think the spelling is leash.  But then again, both words work .... sock it to him!

p.s. Oops, there IS something extra, but they are just for you to use as you like, maybe in other projects.

Yes I do remember (but forgot about the barcode). Something is on its way to you and I didn't include any extra bits, but it's awfully tempting to when you turn out gems like this. Can't there be a statute of limitations on the ban? I might be dead by the time you finish 40 projects.

Sock = excellent mail art omen. My husband found a beauty during a walk along the railroad track. It will be shown soon in a photo in the trashpo group.

Happy it made it to you.  And if you remember, you were the one to send me the popcorn box and barcode which sparked of this idea.  (No, please do not send me any more extra bit.)  At this tme I have nearly 40 projects and ideas I want to do.)  But I might get back to you if I am brain cell dead someday.

Glove update: still nothing, but I found a sock!
