As we prepare for our upcoming exhibition, Please Return To: Mail Art from the Ray Johnson Archive, we have been reminded that for a large percentage of the mail art in our collection, the sender/creator is unknown, since many pieces are unsigned and/or have been separated from their envelopes.

As the Archivist for the Estate, I would like to reach out to the IUOMA community and encourage you to contact me if you see your work reproduced on our website or in our exhibition(s) without proper credit. We have done our best to ascertain authorship, but sometimes the information simply is not there. It was a delight to have some mail artists teach us about their signature imagery and point out their pieces in the archive during last November's Cavellini Festival. I would love for this exhibition to be another opportunity to continue building that knowledge base.

Thank you very much and I hope to see some of you at the exhibition.

Warm regards,

Diana Bowers, Ray Johnson Estate Archivist
