WWF’s Earth Hour is a unique annual phenomenon that focuses the world’s attention on our amazing planet, and how we need to protect it. At 8.30pm on 23 March hundreds of millions of people will turn off their lights for one hour, on the same night, all across the world in a huge, symbolic show of support.

Petanque or boules?

I play boules. The local petanque club's court/pitch has been turned into a car park recently, but the 'Boulodrome' (honest!) lives on.

I phoned Vizma to wish her a Happy Birthday but all I got was her answering machine-thingy as Vizma was probably on her 45th bottle of Ouzo and unable to come to the phone;
