Incoming: Ken B. Miller, Schwind, and Katerina Nikoltsou

A recent grid piece from Ken. Great to have mail from him again.

I couldn't quite read the first name on this - Gunther I think. A nice collage from Germany.

New year mail from Katerina. Always nice to have mail from Greece - especially after not being able to have direct mail for so long. The postage stamps are fun too. I especially like the torso statue ones. I believe the different colors are to show the bits that were stolen by the British at some point. Katerina, can you confirm that?

i hope they will get returned katerina. john oliver did an episode on this not too long ago. not just the greek statues, but other cases from different countries. there was a piece on display from a cambodian temple missing its feet. it was missing its feet because they chopped them off when it was stolen from the temple. crazy.

Thanks for blogging, William, sure is nice to see that we can directly mail now!

Yes, the new Greek postage is about the need to return the "Elgin marbles" back to the Parthenon.

Now that the new Acropolis Museum has more than enough space for the sculptures,

they should be "REUNITEd" with the Parthenon.

In the museum, on the top Parthenon floor, the entire temple is displayed in exact size,

with all the sculpture decoration in place, but for the "stolen" marble pieces,

they are displayed with white plaster copies next to, on top of,

and with the original "golden" marble fragments that were found on the Acropolis.

The white plaster is stark and shows how much is missing...and still in London, sigh.
