July 19, 2016 - Jan Hodgman has been a faithful and productive member of the IUOMA asemic writing group, and I have watched the evolution of her work with great interest over several years. So I am thrilled to have this stunning, postcard-size work she sent me.

She has certainly created asemic glyphs using a cut-up approach, achieving defamiliarization of language by deconstructing commercial fonts. This piece by Jan Hodgman has led me to ponder the relationship between Letterism and asemics, which surely must exist, but is too weighty a subject to pursue at this time. I would be interested to know if anyone has looked into the subject. Her kind note sparked the meditation Letterism:
