This is integral to the design (I think the composition is much stronger this way)
This is a digital collage - the old handwriting is from scans of actual letters, etc.Never heard of Nickle, I'll have to look into him...

Just beautiful by Claire! Stunning. This reminds me a bit of a favorite collage artist of mine, Robert Nickle, though Claire's does have more interesting details than he tends to use. One reason to appreciate both, actually.
