Emily Dickinson as rendered by Theresa Williams ...

... including Theresa's truly wonderful epistolary poem on the back:

I find Theresa's epistolary poetry awe-inspiring -- have become a big fan -- and this may be the best yet. In very few words, she paints a picture that allows you to see the real Emily Dickinson and important parts of her daily life that rarely get focused on.

Theresa's likeness of her is indeed very like her, but what makes this stand out is the lines of "fiery imagination" about her, like an aura, and like the world she lived in in her extremely creative mind. The picture and the poetry bring her to life in a way even Emily D's poetry itself cannot do for me.

It would be a shame not to share the great packaging this 8"x20" piece came in:

By far the biggest mail art I've received yet, and the warnings on the package cracked me up: "This is not a big chocolate bar." "SORT OF FRAGILE" and "DO NOT EAT!" "When opening, remember this is not a chocolate bar." "You can rough it up a little bit. It would probably like that." "No chocolate inside (sorry)." "FULLY COOKED." and "No refrigeration necessary." I've saved this wrapping, almost completely intact.

Thank you so much for all of this, Theresa!  It's a beautiful tribute and revelation.  E.D. would love it too.  It will have a special place on my wall, with the poem next to it.

Great blog, Nancy. I'm putting myself on the list of fans for Theresa's Emily poem.
