Jim,

When I was in college years ago I did a summer internship in Raleigh. I love that whole area. The rolling hills, friendly people & clean city are a big thumbs up in my book. The ambiance there is very relaxed while also has a rich diversity of people/talent. Did you live there? or on vacation?

Thank you for this great postcard.

Very cool. That sounds like a fun diner. I remember going to a Waffle House restaurant for the first time and ordered chicken & eggs "smothered, covered, chunked, diced & capped" with a tall iced tea. It was the highest cholesterol meal I had ever eaten & I felt like I had gone to Heaven! Those biscuits sound delicious.  The waitresses at WH were just like your description. Raleigh's a fun town.

Back in the early '90s, I moved to Raleigh (from Syracuse NY) & lived there for 3 years  - then moved on  to St. Pete FLA.

Biscuit Station was just a block or two from my apartment (I lived on New Bern, a block from the old capitol building).  We'd hit the diner after the bars around 2-AM and almost every Sunday...the food was good and greasy, the biscuits were the lightest and flakiest and the makeup - the blue eye shadow, red lipstick & mascara - on the waitresses was an inch thick (bless their hearts).

I really enjoyed the area Chapel Hill, Durham...
