Another interesting happening with Mr. Jon Foster

So early last week i posted this defaced Album cover art on my Instagram feed (Michael Orr - username: _pone_ - please find and join me on there!)

Prince, Lovesexy, 1988 - this isn't really mailart, just something I did a while back.

Untitled

Saturday I recieved this in the mail, It's made out of the exact same album cover:

Jon Foster - Winston Salem NC

And here are the two, one on top of the other.

Jon Foster on top of Michael Orr

Very fun and clever! Thanks Jon!

This great work sent me to Youtube to view some Prince classics, like in "Purple Rain" where he throws the woman in the dumpster (classy guy).

Turns out he is a copyright violation nut & almost nothing is available. No copyleft for Prince.

A "Manic Monday" cover by that group he put together is about all.

I'm not too sure where I saw your initial post, but I had that trashed Prince record, ready to be messed with. It seemed like a logical path to follow and fun. Thanks so much for posting it.

Amy Irwen favourited this (good taste!). That made me wonder: Does Plintz still live in Minneapolis/St. Paul?

That was awesome!  Nice job, both!

Finger Prints!

Congrats again Michael & Jon, now Prince - Prince is a popcult icon that needed to be appropriated, exploited & deconstructed.

I think you did it with insight & sensitivity.

The Emperor (prince) has no clothes.
