American Spirit! Der Haptic Werewolf STRIKES Again!

This afternoon, my postal carrier pulled into the driveway, honking wildly! I was certain she brought the package from Germany for which I'd been waiting. I took the stairs two at a time... Imagine my confusion when she waved an envelope at me! Ah... Not to worry! This piece came from our favorite Dharmadada as well. The Godfather was a nice touch!

"If you can't get any high art, why not try some low?" Clearly, this was not the HEAVY package I'd been told to expect... I was eager to reveal its contents, in hopes of understanding. The brown, paper-wrapped package inside provided further intrigue... Oh, Erni!

 I carefully slit the tape and found...

American Spirit! Oh, Erni! What a wild surprise!

Ladies and gentlemen, that is a full package of tobacco attached to this piece! I wonder what customs thought... the declaration claimed only paper! ;)

And now, I can't help but think about that HEAVY package... I suppose this is a lesson in patience. :D

THANK YOU, Erni!

Lynn, by the way--11 days later--your sort-of chunky book idea sounds GOOD to me. (Came across your unanswered question while checking your blog in case I'd missed the heavy haul from Hamburg--don't want to miss it!)

Great photo, Erni! :D

Nancy, I'll have to wait to see how it develops, but I have thoughts of a chunky "book" of the works... What do you think of that? Kind of like a child's "board book..." A feast for the senses! The aroma of the tobacco on American Spirit is still fresh now... time will take its toll and one wonders how it will hold up. :D

"Glue pics"--you're right about them, Lynn, and for some reason I've never thought to put them side by side, or together in some other way. But of course his collages do go together, whether lively or peaceful, and they often are both. I have some serious work to do on my wall.

But first ... my very own Senator Watrin comic-covered basket?!?! What a GREAT picture below--Oh, Erni! This is majorly thrilling. Thank you thank you thank you, my Noble Hamburger--it will have a most loving home!

I so enjoy your tales of journeys past, Erni! Songs have a way of tying us to moments in our lives like nothing else can.

I'll have to check out some of Katerina's displays of your work... In the meantime, I will try to stay on "that guy's" good side in hopes of more glue pics! :D

Hi ya, Lynn--you know, it's very tempting to use that sign for my profile photo for a while. But would people take it personally? Tell me no because now I really want to do it! Trying to be around a bit more, but I'm so far behind, it's nearly hopeless. See the H E L P in the desktop I did for Cheryl in today's profile photo? Yah, it's real! :--}

Good to see you around, Nancy! I thought of you last night whilst listening to some 70's rock... "Sign, sign! Everywhere a sign.. Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind! Do this, don't do that! Can't you read the sign?" KEEP OUT! LOL
