This is an envelope I went to send today.

I glued all these cut-out pictures of stamps from a free monthly stamp booklet onto the envelope and asked the lady at Australia Post to weigh it for me. I got a bit worried when she gave me a strange long look, thinking that perhaps I'd broken the law and I'd get fined for forgery or arrested. I asked her if the envelope was ok and she said yes but I'd have to sign a customs declaration. After I filled it in I passed it back and asked how much I had to pay. Again the scary stare.

"Why do you want more stamps on it? You've already overpaid." was her reply.

Which got me wondering, was this why artist's stamps were invented? So that starving artists could send letters for free by fooling the postal service?

Anyway, I explained to her that they were all fake and she said, "Oh yeah, they're all twice as big as normal stamps." Maybe she was overworked. And then I paid her my $2.35. The end.

Geez Louise! I hope everyone's enjoying the Val Herman Show!

I'll allow it this time Katerina, only because you're my mentor!

Thanks Angie, for the nice comment, and now I have to go and have a chat to my rubber stamps

As I said: To Be Continued, so...

PS I don't do digital music, TV (except for sport), CDs, DVDs, MP 3 1/9ths, or any associated garbage of that ilk either.

Who's taking over your story, Vizma? More importantly, why do you feel guilty when rubber stamping (and have you discussed this particular problem with your analyst)?

Oh well, now that I have taken this over, here's a list of things that Val doesn't do: blogs, digital cameras, scanners, films/movies, opera (listening to, not doing), ballet (going to, not...?), dish washers, central heating, social networks like Farcebook/Twotter/Yourboobs/etc, iPids, iPuds, iMacks, anything else to do with i's except iRons, hot food, gin, budgy jumping, add'n'passes, and that's enough for now.

To Be Continued (ha!)

Ha! You won't believe this but there's a winery in Victoria (next to my SA not your SA) called Clair de Lune. Apt don't you think? Cheers.

And that was me changing the subject from stamps. Yes, I love postal stamps! No, I haven't made you a rubber stamp!!! I can't rubber stamp without feeling guilty!!!!

Val doesn't do blogs, only stamps :-))! Thats his signature tune - it goes like this - I think to the tune of Claire De Lune

The End.

Val.

You're signing off like Val :-)))! A stamp match made in heaven! Just as long as you're not trying to sneak nuts out the country, everything should be fine :-) X

Here's some multiple stamp envelopes.

I'll post bail for you if Oz Post tries to prosecute you...but only to a maximum of $2.34
