It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing our dear friend Anna Banana of Sechelt, British Columbia ,Canada

And a small note: She legally had her name changed to Anna Banana

Very sad to hear this news.  We were meant to meet when she was in Europe, but then I left for Ukraine and it never happened.  We spoke a few times on the phone and she was worried of what she was going to do with her banana and Mail art collection.  Hopefully she took care of this issue.

Very sad news indeed.  We will never forget the Banana Queen, and I have her book.

Anna was a major influence in my life, both as an artist and a fiercely independent single woman. I spent many restorative and inspiringvweekends with Anna in her Roberts Creek home and studio. Her incisive wit and withering commentary combined to full effect in her performance and visual art. I carry her light in my heart.
