The other day at work I found a few dozen envelopes in the trash and rescued them (well, duh!)  They are all sorts of pastel colors, Probably from greeting cards.

I don't need any more envelopes, but couldn't stand to see them tossed.  Now they are here.  I could send them media rate to somebody that wants them (in the usa, cannot afford…

Surprise! Boo!

Norma Soulet is definitely in the Halloween mood.  She sent a delicious assortment of scary art.

My devil dog thought so too.  Perhaps I'm delusional, but I think the pumpkin art looks interesting after Daisy's…

how do you store Inchies?

Robin Jeree sent a lovely set of inchies, along with some other goodies.

I hang mail art up in my office and enjoy it everyday.  When the wall is full, I put everything in ring binders and start over.  I know, rather OCD.  But these are beautiful SMALL gems, lovely to look at, hard to display.  Any…

Such a thing as French Aesthetic?

Even while enjoying the French country side, Toni Hanner is creating fine images.  Vacation ATCs , sounds like a group "in potential"

New trend- Book Markers!

Recently several book marks have arrived here at the Monster Atelier.  I can ( and do) mark my place in a book with all sorts of flat items, tho' ATCs get lost.  But these are deluxe, fully designed working book markers, even with tails. Both Norma Soulet and Mail Art Martha clearly marked them with their usage.…

The Artistamp Review #1

Adam Roussopoulos created a most excellent inaugural issue of his artistamp review, with promises (threats?) for the next in 2020.  I especially liked the bonus pocket in the back.

He also sent a "pop-up" piece of folding art landscape.  Very cool.…

Always something special from Ruth Giles

Ruth always sends a neat collection of thoughts.  First here is her comment on hair products.

Then there are a couple of nifty little books, followed by an ATC for dessert.…

Gerrymandering by Engineers?

Yesterday amongst the boring junk there arrived a new (to me) name in MA, James Chester.  At first glance, I thought it might be envelope art, nothing inside.  But it was folded and taped with washi, intriguing! So I unfolded it.

Inside was a painted map. ( It didn't fit in my flat bed scanner, sorry I chopped off one end).  This is how an…

Color pencils from Lorella Castagnini

A lovely piece of art, with a magazine  article.  I don't read (or speak) Italian, but I believe the article is about the inventor of the hexagonal pencil: Ebenezer Wood.    The two pencils on the left  are little tiny pencils.  Its amazing how something as mundane as pencils can be new from a different perspective.…

INteractive art from Kathy Barnett

Kathy gives plenty of warning before I open the envelope- Its so cool the way she coordinates the whole package each time.  The birthday cake is a great touch. Of course I took no heed of the clear warnings.  Love the way the…
