Front of envelope sent to Stewart Charlebois. This drawing is an example of an Irish Pillar postbox. The insignia I drew on it can be found primarily on some postboxes in Dublin. As you can tell I'm quite fond of postboxes.

love that envelope - postboxes - oh yes. I saw the green ones when I was in Dublin last month (rugby tour). Here's the crusty, mossy postbox round the corner from our house:

I'm a fan too, I take photos of them on all my travels!

Ha ha, I scare myself with how much I don't know!! I didn't know that was paint, I would've guessed it was a copper patina, that would be reeeally nice!

Trying to have a happy Sunday, but am so hungover... ;-(

Thanks Vizma. I like making envelopes like this. Nice to get a change from my usual envos! The postboxes used to be painted red - this is going back before Ireland got its independence. In 1922 it was decided red had to go. So instead of changing all the boxes they just gave them a lick of green paint. So that's why we have green postboxes and yet still have a very 'British' style box with a lot of the boxes still having royal British insignias. Recently the Irish postal system were trying to change the colour to blue and a yellow trim. Didn't catch on. Sometimes I scare myself with what I know. Haha! Have a happy day!
