Yes, I thought the squiggles were definitely Nicoise when I noticed them. Oh, La Poste in Vence, possibly in St. Paul de Vence they'd be a bit more encouraging. But Nice, ah, Nice is so nice. Thank you for the information about the voice of E.T. I had the opportunity to share it this morning.

Oh yes Mr. Moby, many wacky sides.  I did have a bit of a problem with this one at the Vence post office.  The lady said that I could not send it through the mail without putting it in an envelope.  I said, "No problem", then I took it to Nice and mailed it from there.  I now see that the post person there adds scribbles on the stamps to make the whole project prettier.  Next time I’ll add that finial touch myself.
