The 'reach' of the Feds is incredible - 'bad people for illegal purposes', well I guess that would have rumed out at least half of the Mail Art vommunity at the time.

Comment by James Hill on August 25, 2013 at 7:28am: Hold on to your hat. I have many more surprises yet to come. Think of the set of four as four play. I just ordered a new rainbow color ink pad to use with all the rubber stamps I have held on to for all these years. I remember when I started buying them from the San Francisco Stamp Company on mission street in San Francisco way back in 1982. They had this box of discarded, and rejected rubber stamps that they sold cheap. I would go there often looking for new rubber stamps until one day when I entered the store I found that they no longer sold rejected or discarded rubber stamps. Seems that the FBI came in and told the store owner that bad people were using the stamps for illegal purposes and made them remove the box. True story. It was a sad day for me when the box went away.
