What an amazing way to put it Helen. For me, it's like taking one of those paper things they use to make cotton candy and letting the junk swirl around it wherever I find it.  I started using found objects because I was too damn poor to afford art supplies, but then i just feel in love with the challenge of making something out of nothing--or arguably things that SHOULD be nothing. That's cool that they let your doggie in the PO.  I sent something for your spirit of place call. I saw you also have a bird (the sandpo vid) how does the dog bet along with the bird?

Thank you guys for the feedback. I had a show with all of these pieces. Every inch of them is made from things I found over the course of a year or two

Interesting you should pick this particular piece by DK, Helen. I'm finally starting to understand Jim Leftwich's Trashpo concept. You see it in DK's work. Trashpo isn't just an assemblage of found objects. It's an assemblage of found objects that have letters and writing on them. They are combined to make poems or text - a bit of da da. This qualifies Trashpo to be Haptic Poetry or Object Poetry - that's where it's coming from. I love the controlled chaos in DK's work.
