Aren't there luggage levies too, the last time I HAD to use them I went on with hand luggage.

Funnily enough the lost luggage was full of shoes and toiletries!

Some wit said he would gladly pay, lock himself in the loo immediately after take off, and stay there until the plane was due to land He argued that the loo was more comfortable & spacious than his plane seat.

Standing isn't allowed on planes, so that idea didn't fly -- ha!

Did your luggage turn up? Did it have a nice fortnight's holiday?
