Help needed about uploading photo images

Hello,

I need help regarding uploading images properly. 

As you see in my avatar photo and other photo images in my profile, they do not show properly, like upside-down and such. I am on another site like Postcrossing and my photo images show properly on that site, so I am wondering what is wrong with my photo images on this IUOMA site?

I am not a tech person and English is not my native tongue, so I would appreciate it if anyone could explain why this is happening and how to solve this in an easy English. Thank you in advance! :-)

Hallo Kiki,

hm, I am not sure why this is happening. But here is one possible explanation: I guess you used your mobile phone for taking the photo? If yes, when you took the photo, how did you hold it? When taking photos with a mobile phone your mobile phone recognizes how it is positioned, so photos that you take upside down will show still correct.  This information is safed seperately and maybe the IUOMA side (that is based on a pretty old program) ignores this extra information, so your photos are upside down/not in correct rotation...  

To test this you can make a photo with the mobile phone positioned correctly and load it up here - and see if it is correctly positioned in that case. 

I will make a quick sketch to show what I mean, as my mother tongue isn't English, too, so it is difficult to explain.

Kiki, I just found out you even can rotate photos you already posted. See how below:

Oh, I see! Thank you, Sabrina! 

I now could manage to rotate my photo images, but I still cannot figure out how to edit as for my avatar image... Oh well, I changed my avatar image now, so it looks okay now - no one recognises it actually is showing sideways.

You need to adjust the photos ( rotate them) Majority of the cell phones: left or right click, see the properties of the very photo, then click on ''edit'' then click on ''rotate'' (depending what side you need to rotate and to what degrees)
