For me thinking green is just a way of living and taking care of our planet.
I use rainwater, make paper from recycled scraps, garden weeds and plants, ...

Many materials in my work are found leftovers.

It is the same for me, Susan. I think a lot about environmental issues and my daily life reflects that in the way how I eat, what I buy, what I do, etc. In my opinion humans take too much space for themselves on this planet (when it comes to the amount of resources they use) and are way too greedy, not respecting the rights of other species to survive.

I often thought about how mail art could be a vessel for these thoughts and concerns… but like you said, there is the risk of creating depressing, maybe even offending mail art, especially as everybody gets triggered by different things.

I think about green/environmental issues all the time. Beyond recycling there's overall conservation, energy use, land use, and most of all for me endangered species. It's hard to keep one's spirits up. Can we make mail art on these issues that is encouraging and not totally depressing?
