Barters, Alnwick? Love, love, love

Comment by Bradford on August 30, 2021 at 7:34pm

I've been there, but we didn't visit a bookshop.  We took a train from Morpeth to Edinburgh where there was a book festival that weekend.  Had to have a pint at the old pub that overlooks the train station before catching one back a coupla days later.  (To this day, if I hear a British accent in a bar here in Deadwood, I always say, "Sorry, they're all outta Theakston's.")

@Bradford One of my favourite bookshops is in Alnwick. The north East isn't a bad area. It's nicely affordable too.

I was there in '97.  A friend of mine has lived in the Newcastle/Alnwick area since birth.
