November is here and the leaves pile up on the back garden path. Soon the green bin will be full.  We are enjoying the colours of Autumn every day on our walks . Amazing yellows, browns and reds.  We are lucky to have the countryside so close here in Rudheath.  It's but a short walk to the Trent & Mersey canal in one direction and down the lane the other way are fishing ponds and the River Dane.  Lots of farm land full of corn stubble and some for sheep and cows.  Sadly some has been sold off for housing estates.  Pockets of green belt have been built upon over the last few years despite so many brown field sites being left empty.  On a recent walk down the canal we spotted a fence made from the side of a van which once displayed an advert for Bisto gravy. It was an odd sight to see in someones back garden!  The photo I took won't upload for some reason.

But as Robert Frost would say:

"Something there is that doesn't love a wall..."

"...Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense..."
