Sad news about Samantha (Sam) price

Hi, everyone

I learned the sad news that Samantha (Sam) Price passed away last month. http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/SamanthaPrice

She had been suffering from severe myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.

Her obituary is here https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/lowellsun/obituary.aspx?n=samanth...

You can also leave comments for her family here: https://memorial.davisfuneralhomenh.com/samantha-price/4193073/inde...

Sam was confined to her bed for the last 3 years of her life, and mail art was her connection to the outside world. She lived with her father, who I am sure was familiar with her passion for mail art. I was amazed at what she created given the very small space she was able to work in. Sam sent out over 200 envelopes and mail art pieces in 2019, and she was so happy to have this as her creative outlet.

Rest in peace, Sam.

Sam was a superhero, who used her creativity as the superpower to conquer illness and isolation.
We shall always draw inspiration from her excellent art!

11.05.20   This post, Mister FinnBadger is a well chosen  & thoughtful gesture  in honor of Ms. Samantha Price. Thanks to  you  &  to all concerned for the appreciative commentary  as it is informative & well deserved. I shared  only a brief &  incidental comment with Ms. Price. She proved to be understanding & exceptional even within that brief encounter. I recently read her "Profile Information" here at the I.U.O.M.A. & (it is all clearly obvious but knowing what I alas, know now) it is with woven with  wonder & inspiration.

Very sorry for this news about Sam. She sent me a wonderful collaged envelope earlier this year, and I was happy to send to her. Her envelope was included in a recent blog, but I'm posting it here for a better view:

Sam and I had a great "envelopes only" exchange going.  Very sad and I will miss her art and humor.

I too, received something lovely just a short while ago.  Turns out it was dated the day before she died.  I was blown away by learning of her death just last night just before going to bed.  Sam was an incredibly talented artist who created an amazing body of work from her bed.  Everything she sent was created with such attention to detail.  I found her work inspiring, as Adam said too.  Sam will be sorely missed here among our group.  Condolences to her family if they are reading this.

So sad. I just had mail from her not too long ago and sent something in return. :( Thanks for letting us know.

I'm heartbroken to hear about Sam. I just met her in March, through this group, and she sent me a gorgeous water color with a beautiful note. A few days before she passed, she sent me a long email. What a generous, sparkling spirit, and a fabulous artist. I was so looking forward to getting to know her better. Thank you for sharing the news. And it's wonderful to see her work in everyone's posts. I'm sorry I'm not able to upload photos to share. Thinking of Sam and wishing her a bright journey...
