04.06.20 Dare Mister Val Mark H., ...Maybe I'm too easily entertained but (& this is certainly not a  negative remark) far too many of the "Boring Postcards" are very interesting. For me & for instance, the "NEW BERN Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola" refers to New Bern, Nawf Karolinah  (my home state) . I was aware of the fact but never saw such a postcard until  today via Val Mark Herman & Ms. Katerina Nikoltsou. Coca-Cola was invented in Atlanta . (The southland birthed all kinds of ner-do-wells & odd-ball "soft drinks".)  I enjoy your "Boring Postcards". SinCelery, Richard Canard

It looks like this:

Bonjour Katerina!

No, nothing yet. Our post seems to have got back to a nearly normal state -- at least for domestic mail, but mail coming in from (some) foreign countries is still very slow. When (if??) your Boring Postcards arrive, I'll post the here. Bestest, Val

Many thanks again, Mikel

Well, Sigmund, what do you make of Mikel's grotto dreams?

2.16th century house, Aubigny (Cher), France

Cher is the shadowy figure on the right of this Boring Postcard; Sonny is in the middle wearing the top hat. They are both humming 'I got you, babe'.

MIM's POSTCARDS CONTINUED

1. Lake Scene

It says on the back "Lake Scenes -- 10 Subects". I don't know which lake it is -- any ideas? (I hope the other 9 Lake Scenes are equally Boring.)

2. "Jumping Cholla (Cho' Ya') Opuntia Bigelovia

A still-life. Or still death. "Most dangerous of the desert cactus because of its loosely connected joints that drop to the flesh or clothing at the slightest disturbance. The barbed, needlelike spines bore deep and removal from flesh is very painful, yet this is the most beautiful large cactus on the desert because of its shining silvery spines that look like little icicles in the sunlight. Flower April and May."

As we are now in June, you'd be safer with Jumping Jack Flash. Cho Ya!

And more Thanks TO Mim

1. Hotel Row, Miami Beach, Florida

"Looking nothward along Miami Beach's Collins Avenue, the Nation's greatest concentration of luxury hotel accomodate the hundreds of thousands of visitors that enjoy the sun and excitement of this resort capital.

"SEE THE NATION IN A CHEVROLET."

Does one (ot more) of these hotels belong to Donald?

2. NON POSTCARD CONTRIBUTIONS FROM JIMMY CONNORS

1. Pet Shop Boys: "Being Boring"

Some people quote the Bible. Others quote Shakespeare. Yet others (including your truly) quote song titles or song lyrics -- usually from a  different era. Jimmy has bought to my notice a song by the Pet Shop Boys called "Being Boring" that he says "..is being sung in his head all the time".*

You can find it on YourBoob here:

Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring - YouTube

Here are the lyrics of the last verse:

'And we were never being boring
We had too much time to find for ourselves
And we were never being boring
We dressed up and fought, then thought: "Make amends"
And we were never being boring
We were never being bored
'Cause we were never being boring
We were never being bored.'

* If you're interested -- thought not -- the song going round and round, and round and round in my head is Herman's Hermits, "I'm into Something Good.

2.Watching Tennis at a Football Ground

Jimmy sent me a little ATC-size card (see below). I'm not sure what it has got to do with Boring Postcards, but can well understand why someone called 'Jimmy Connors' would send it.

Thanks Jimmy for both contributions.
