October 3, 2019: Lisa Iversen (N. Manchester, IN) was in my neck of the woods this past week, and I had the pleasure of meeting up with her.

Lyons (Lakeville, MN), so this black and white photograph of two random ladies will have to do!

Yes, Skybridge Studios' own Lisa Iversen was in Minnesota, and we made time to get together. So on Wednesday morning, October 3, we met at Sencha's Tea Bar in Uptown Minneapolis. I think Lisa will agree that we hit it off right from the start! Lisa is a lovely and sweet gal, and I found her easy going. We decided ahead of time to bring some art to exchange, and quite honestly, I made out like a bandit (see photos of my art haul below).

Lisa needs no introduction from me. She is well known within the Eternal Network, having excelled in asemics, vispo, trashpo (among other areas of mail art). Do a google search and you will find a number of blog posts and photographs dedicated to Lisa Iversen's art.

In recent years Lisa has taking time away from m-a, so we really haven't corresponded via the postal system. Our primary interactions have been through Facebook. I was thrilled that Lisa brought along some art from her Skybridge Studios archives. I especially liked the various books she had made for Cheryl Penn's (South Africa) past projects. Clearly, Lisa Iversen is a tremendous talent! I am in awe of her work.

After tea we headed down Hennepin Avenue, and shopped at The Paper Store and Magers & Quinn Booksellers.

To follow are photos of the art (and other goodies) Lisa bestowed on me:

BROADSIDES

BOOKS

"Some Mysterious Mail Art Posts: i have received," 2014. Chapbook by Skybridge Studios.

Manchester Bee Presents a Story in Several Installments - "The Wonders of Wabash County,

Part One," 2014. By Skybridge Studios. A delightful story - historical fiction meets time travel!

FLAIR BUTTONS

Here are two pinback buttons from Lisa: 1) "Sisters of HOLY CRAP," 2) "DKULT is the SHIT."

ANTIQUE QUILL PENS

Warren Mfg. Co. (N. Manchester, IN) Quill Pens, circa 1890s. Lisa found a bunch of these, and
gave two to me. Constructed of heavy black cardboard. Back then, the pens were "One Cent Each."

UNIFORM NAME PATCH

The Lyons' Den mascot finally gets a name: "ZIBBIE THE LION" (and hardy har har!)

Thanks for all the great art and goodies, Lisa. And thanks for the meetup. Looking forward to seeing you in the mail!

Yes, she is! Would you like to make one for Lisa, or shall I?

Lisa is an official Legend of Trashpo, but no one has made her stamp.

Thanks for sharing, DVS! Yes, Lisa Lisa (and Cult Jam) is very versatile. The blue asemics pages you shared are very nice. I also like the vispo pages from Cheryl’s book project.

Thanks for the kind words, Mr. Richard C. There certainly is a great deal of satisfaction when meeting with like-minded people!

Pages by Lisa Iversen for one of Cheryl Penn's collaborative book projects that were organized through IUOMA. I think this was for a vispo book circa 2012 (notes say "anthology" if anyone remembers). In the post below (blue pages) are asemics by Lisa for Cheryl's Asemics 16 project.

Mail art by Lisa Iversen (aka Skybridge Studios aka Lisa Lisa) from the MinXus-LynXus Archives. She is very versatile.

Ms. Jayne Barket Lyons & Ms. Lisa Iverson ...two creative & sophisticated ladies who are also smart enuf to figure out a way to take advantage of Ruud Janssen's IUOMA as he intended for us all.
