and speaking of envelope contents incompletely recognized... I just found a response from Jim Leftwich from 2004!!! I'm afraid to look and see if I responded to it earlier!

Howdy, Nancy. I'd love to show the Fikasso but that was years ago and I've no clue where it may be today. Probably composting in a landfill somewhere. YOB-f PS. I think that 'lope was the one in which you sent the asemic piece I admired.

Hi Nancy, I am writing from Germany and have seen some of your collages by accident!

I am really fascinated by them, because I am also a fan of collage and love to work with different papers and materials. So I would love to exchange mail art with you and send you something of myself the next days!!

Best wishes !!

Nancy Bell!  What a loverly surprise to find your envelope in my mail box.  I knew it was yours immediately.  Isn't it interesting how we can recognize the "voice" of our mail art pals?  Loved the beautiful little three-scrappers.  They make me want to get back to my happy art fun room--soon, soon, soon.  Thanks so much.

NBS, I'm glad you like them. Keep them if that's how it goes.

Asemic Front is going to work and it's going to be more than collabs, so no pressure there.

My problem is I don't know how to make an unfinished piece. All the collab foundations I'm making end up being finished pieces.

So I would very much like to use your work in some form in AF. So maybe it will be collabs or some other format.

But it will work out. Thx for the message, DVS

Wow, Nancy -- thank you so much for the 3-scrapper! Your work is just completely amazing. I love the text (which I have to try to read) and the layers of torn paper, the ink and paint--everything about these is wonderful. Your envelope is groovy, too. And Happy Birthday!
