This is the MyRywell 3D pen. I used it during the workshops. 12 pens functioned without problems for two sessions of 2 hours. So that was quite good. They are smooth, good in the hand, and the college paid 70 Euros for each pen. Works with both ABS en PLA plastics.

This is the LIX pen. I bought it (actually only paid for it) two years ago, but am still waiting for the pen to be deliverd. It was a kickstarters project that was very succesfull when it comes to the collected money. They did only deliver the first 500-1000 pens and a lot were not working that well. The promiss to improve, but I am still waiting for this pen. Paid over 100 euros for it, never received it. So wait for them to produce a functioning version before you send them money!

I've seen these but have been reluctant to purchase. I got burned a couple times, oh hell 4 times to be honest, on different Kickstarter projects and that's where I saw the pens. I can't afford them (wah wah) right now, so reading which ones are preferred helps me to know what to choose when my financial situation improves.

The MyRywell pen sells for 60-70 euros in most countries. In the workshop I ordered 12 and got one for free. I had a sponsor, so that helped.

Also bought the LIX pen at Kickstarter in 2014, but they still haven;t delivered. That costed me 120 euro and I got only message, delays and NO pen.

Also bough a 3D pen in China through Ebay for 30 US$ only. Had to pay tax on delevery (18 euros) and that pen worked for a month and then stopped functioning.

So, yes, it isn't easy to get access to a good 3D pen.

the old Rywell pen (ABS only)
