I got ZINES from SaraMarie in Conneticut on Friday!  Check out this haul!  She made a gorgeous envelope with calligraphy and an illustrated Gnome, which was super fun and exciting to see in the mail.  It was so well done that I was confused about whether it was computer produced and printed Sometimes I have to take illustrated envelopes I get from IUOMA  members and put them up on my wall at home or work, and this is one of them.

In an act of serious generosity, she sent me antique postage stamps from Denmark, India, Australia, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, England, Norway (?), Rome, the US, and a couple from countries I don't know because I have no education in non latin based languages.  My favorite one is labeled "Cote Francaise De Somalis", because of those long, thin elegant deer and rich greenery!

SaraMarie sent me Issues 1 - 5 of Dancing Rabbits Publications, The Radicals Series, printed in 2015.  These zines are about activism, US history, philosophy, education as a means to reduce economic inequality, how to be an activist and take care of your emotional well being and the history and wide usage of balaclavas.  They are RICH with really great hand drawn illustrations.  The publisher doesn't waste the backsides either, all of them have posters or written content inside the zines, seen by opening them up to their full one page size.  My partner described Issue #2 as "Really Cool" and Issue #3 as "F&$*ing Awesome".  He's right, of course.

Thank you SaraMarie!!!
