I'm sure it's a treasure trove! I'll be sending mail your way soon enjoy the day not sure what the weather is like there, but it's frigid here, but at least they say it might snow
Welcome Judith, and thanks for the invite! I would love to exchange... I will be moving in a few weeks and am currently dealing with a LARGE backlog (you will probably find you get one of those pretty damned quick at IUOMA!), so it may be a while until I can do anything....
In the meantime, to begin an exchange, you just send someone something, and then they reply. Replies can be immediate, but I've found they can take many, many many months also (mine usually take quite a while...) Once in a while they are met with (seeming...?) silence, but that's pretty rare...
Find an artist whose work interests you and go to their page. Their address is usually in their profile. What I ddi in case it's not, is write them a private message and ask. You could search around by either delving into members of a group that interests you, or maybe by clicking the "photos" link at the top of the page. There are thousands of folks here and a lot of different kinds of work - I imagine you will find yourself at home, as it were, pretty fast. It's a very warm, inspiring, supportive (& very excited about MA!) group.
Your page shows up. Bookmark it for easier access. You can edit your profile there, or send a message, read messages, or add photos, etc.
2. My message to you shows up on your page. If you click on my name (red) above the message it will bring you to my page. You can leave a comment (message) on my Comment Wall section under my Profile.
The web site is actually nice once you get used to it.
Happy New Year! and welcome to this unique community of mail artists. Have fun! I loved your Circus Diary, such lively sketches!
Celebrate IUOMA's 25th anniversary! See the Call for Entries on my IOUMA page, or at http://decordisart.blogspot.com/ I would like to receive mail art from you--and I will send you something in return.
PS: My IUOMA avatar is my life mask interpreted as Gaia, Earth Goddess. I used seed pods, snakeskin, feathers, bone animals and semi-precious stones, as well as other decorative items.
Judith, this is a friendly welcome to The Eternal Network from a celestial mail artist born and raised in a heavenly corner of the faraway Universe called Republik van Patland. A perfect start here certainly is mail art exchange. I would love to be the other end when you decide it´s the right time for you to start trading mail art. If that´s the case at the time, your envelope or card should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil
I look forward to see a piece of yours in my terrene mail box. Yes! I will do my homework after receiving yours. This nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I´m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Envelope Provider.
