The exhibition “Capturing the City” at the Museum of Moscow has opened (curators Alina Saprykina, Evgenia Kikodze and Alina Fedorovich; address - 2 Zubovsky Boulevard, Moscow). At this exhibition, I am one of eight exhibiting collectors. I show mail art from the USA, Russia, Italy, France, Japan, Brazil and other countries.

I have not been to the exhibition yet, while I am posting photographs of Sofia Ivanova, borrowed on her page. My part of the exposition is visible; mail art is located on display windows under glass.

I meant to write: Thanks for sharing this information at the end of the comment. It's great to see as I am interested in the many ways people present mail art. I also have some knowledge of how museums operate. The exhibition process is a constantly evolving one and things can end up looking quite different from how they were initially envisioned : )

Debra:

About display... In Moscow, now many young people are studying design, photography and art. This is fashionable. Display tables for the exhibition were made by young girls studying in Moscow at the British School of Design.

I like this idea of looking at personal collections to see what they tell us. They are unofficial museums in their own right. I can read much of the English language text in the photo and google translate helps with understanding the exhibition's page on the museum's website: http://mosmuseum.ru/exhibitions/p/sobiraya-gorod/

Thanks
