I've just found out the US postal service is raising rates at the end of this AUgust (29th).  Considering our mail is one of the least expensive in the world I'm not too unhappy.  But still!  two increases in one year!

First-Class Stamp will move from 55 to 58 cents

First-Class Mail Domestic Postcards $0.36  to $0.40
Outbound International Letters (1 oz.) $1.20  to$1.30

Since most of us in the US buy "forever" stamps, should be a non event.

Hope you stocked up on "Forever" stamps,

I love getting them, and perhaps you need not add more postage?

Have a cup of coffee?  :-)

We're still enjoying a reduced rate for domestic postcards, though.  Most countries don't offer this.  Our reduced rate for International postcards went away years ago.  Makes us folks who use older stamps on Mail Art have to use larger envelopes or higher denom stamps.

18.07.21  Dare Ms. Heide M., ...Thanx for the tip. As I recall, the last time I purchased an official U.S. Postcard ( a blank white card  with a printed stamp image on one side---there was an additional charge of four cents for the card alone [i.e.  36 cents plus O4 cents for a total of 40 cents at the current rate] ....I suppose this means at the end of August the new rate will be 44 cents)---unless of course the price of the glorified "little blank index card" goes up as well.  Do you suppose that's right or is richard just confused again?   SinCelery, Richard C.
