Karnival of Trash: Carina Granlund's Soft-Shoe Steels the Greatest Toe on Earth! (Petsmo, Finland)

Mail art by IUOMA member Carina Granlund (Petsmo, Finland)

December 1, 2016 - Friends will recall, no doubt with great nostalgia and fondness, that Carina Granlund stole the show in the Who Has The Best Hair Contest back in 2014. She has done it again with this FAB piece of Trashpo embroidery. This extends the vision of Trashpo and represents a view shared by many. I am so thrilled to be able to include it. The mail art arrived in the usual brown paper and black tape that is so much a part of the Carina Granlund aesthetic.

Does Carina Granlund really mean, “Don’t thread on me?” Here are some perspectives on the work unfolded:

Thank you for explaining, Carina.

You won the Who Has The Best Hair Contest. But, unfortunately, I am not awarding prizes for the Karnival of Trash.

What if someone did better than DK, KDJ, Jim or Richard C? It would be too awkward.

"In Trashpo no one wins." So true.

Thanks for the great blog and photos, DVS! The design is taken directly from an advertisement from the '80s which I liked. The burn mark... how appropriate!
