Congratulations to the Suffolk Poultry Princess - that was one of my contributions & I think my best. Hmmm... for all your triumphs, Rebecca, you were dinged on Best Accessories. Diane Keys got that instead?

It's all extremely exciting!  I am wondering  what you wear to receive your Order of the Tangerine Mink.  Maybe David can whip something up for me? I have been working on the handbag all weekend. And I'm considering changing the colour of my hair but I need to know the date so I can time the roots. I still pine for that comb.

BG, you made it through with head held high and dignity intact, which is a marvel.

You'll note in the catalog that tENT, Karen Eliot and Rebecca Guyver were named to the Order of the Tangerine Mink, which is done annually.

I won!

David, you're appropriation of tENT's acceptance speech is a possible copyright violation.

DK, your comment made me realize that we'll probably spend the rest of the year revoking the prizes due to Anti-MinXus conduct by the winners.

What kind of contest is this? everyone wins? Where is the fierce competition in that? I'm not saying that I don't appreciate winning the polecat headband (which goes great with my trashpo headband), but isn't this like kid's Sports where each and every kid gets a trophy whether they have a single ounce of talent or not? Winning is only super exciting if it means a lot of very nice deserving people lose.  I would almost rather this contest was rigged, but it is very clear that it is not.  At least I now have a place to plug my new line of trashion accessories:  feast your eyes on the first ever trashpo barrette

Gee, I had no idea. I thought I was just Miss Minxus New Mexico, not that there's anything wrong with that of course. So more thanks is due to all concerned especially DVS and Marie. I'll use TAC's acceptance speech as well since it cannot be improved upon.

tENT, you do deserve it & it's been great having you aboard for this year's "Happening." You have a lot of support around here for that "Genius Grant," only how that organization makes its awards is far more suspect than how these were made.

The Official Cut category has been of some interest to those following the contest. You have to wade through the voluminous copy to find it. In short, The Empress was stymied & first place is shared by four people. So there are four official cuts:

David Stafford

Carina Granlund

Moan Lisa

tentatively, a cONVENIENCE (as BG predicted)

Marie spent a lot of time on the final list & her involvement is greatly appreciated. This has been a great mending activity as, at one point, I expelled her from MinXus, which she created. So, really, a great coming together of folks from different areas. Having a Neoist thread running through it has certainly been part of the fun.

"I am deeply honored.  Of course, I fucking deserve it."  That's my acceptance speech for the MacArthur Fellowship too so get to work on it people!

Insert elaborate curtsey here...
