Janine Weiss: La joie céleste

Inspired by the heavy snow in Switzerland and the fact that Christmas is just around the corner ... oh dear, I just remembered, what am I going to buy my wife for Christmas?  She didn't really like the window cleaner I bought her last year.  Sorry, I got side tracked.  Yes, Janine is calm and inspired by it all and full of joy in making Mail Art.  I think this is wonderful.…

Marie Wintzer: A hint of a smile

Well actually I had a big smile when I opened this homemade envelope and pulled out the piece of cloth with all the Marie trade marks.  The images, the text, staples and that paper clip that still doesn't do anything.

So long it did not fit on the scanner.…

Erni Bar: The Long Package Strikes Again

The Long package arrived to our gardien (concierge).  She said directly to the mailman; "That must be for Mr. Marks".  Yes, she now knows Erni's art when she sees it.

I open the box and all of these things popped out.  And yes, I should have taken this picture before half that chocolate bar was gone.  Not very professional of me. Was that Nancy speaking about self control?

So I put on the oven glove and clapped my hands.  It worked !!! No noise.  I replaced the…

Queen Dame Mailarta: Publish or Not, here I come

When you recieve mail art from Dame Mailarta, you know it.  A large envelope filled to the brim with all sorts of things to amaze you.  OH dear, a Boy Scout badge!  I always wanted one, but you had to do goodie good stuff to get one, and that wasn't my thing at the time.  However, once I did get a badge that said; "Danger to Brownies".

Also included here is a really pro publication of Dame Mailarta's Diamond Jubilee Mail Art Exhibition.  Now that took a lot of time and effort to…

Katerina Nikoltsou: Four Pieces

When it rains, it pours.  Or as they say in Mail Art Martha's Retailia, it's raining like barcodes.

And with that a blue xmas tree with a white Paris skyline.

Willemien Visser: Mobilin Die Kinderseiten in Zusain

My first ever mail art from Willemien who sometimes lives across the river from me.  However, this one is sent from Germany.  Shades of green, we forget how powerful green can be.  Lovely to see washrooms in nature. Yes, look again.

On the back it reads; "Mobilin Die Kinderseiten in Zusain".  I'll have to get out my German dictonary out, but at first glance, I…

Sarah Churchill: Volcano Spice and more

A wonderful little surprise from Sarah which arrived in a homemade envelope.  At first I didn't see it. I read the title on the back, I looked at the picture again, read the back, looked again.  And there it was; Lava flowing from the spice cone.  I guess it just looked normal to me.  Very funny and clever.

But wait, there's more.  Inside the homemade envelope…

Nancy Bell Scott: Odd Ball Things and you got to hand it to Nancy for trying

Odd Ball Things yes, but some wonderful memories that came with it.  OH I remember thoses tags which were used before barcodes!  A real treat all of this stuff.  Where did you ever find that picture of my first girlfriend?  She looks a bit stiff in the picture, but boy did we have some laughs!

Sadly it is time to tell everyone that Nancy's glove never made it to…

Rebecca Guyver: Let them drink Champagne

No matter how many times you repeat yourself before you loose your head, some people will never understand the important things in life.  Rebecca makes it clear in this fun piece.  She hit the nail on the head with me!

Funny enough, at first I didn't see the bottle!  Thanks for those unstamped stamps ...…

Cheryl Penn: Snap Dragons or PaintingTorture

OH Why OH why does Cheryl torture me this way.  Yes another wonderful painting cut up into pieces and sent all over the world.  You got to admit it, the lady has a great style.  I just keep telling myself; “ be grateful for the piece you received”, “artist have the power to do whatever they want with their own work”, I can’t wait to meet her and hit her with a newspaper.  Bad Girl, Bad Girl.…
