ART is my Quiet Friend

I've been spending some sacred time on mail art lately....I need to have art in my life. Until now it has been most difficult since I had no 'place' to go, to enjoy my friend called "Mail Art". Up until now, every time I wanted to make mail art, or any art for that matter, I had to gather all my supplies, paper, paints, bits and bob's and camp out on the dinning room table and then take it all down just in time for dinner. I'm sure there have been many other's who…

THANK YOU! Mass Blog (Suus In Mokum, ARTLIKEART, Carina Granlund, Dean Marks, Stephanie Blake, Guido Vermeulen, Erica Durante AND Mim Golub Scalin!)

Suus In Mokum had the unfortunate duty of reminding me that I had let summer take over my life, neglecting to blog or even say, "Thank you!" for some of the wonderful mail that has been gracing my humble box these days. Guido's interpretation of the Belgium flag

This morning I had to do my administration and amongs the blue envelops (tax) and bills I found this wonderful envelop, designed by Guido Vermeulen. It is his interpretation of the Belgium flag. Is it my imagination or do I really see a doggy on the right, cats in front of the red and other creatures studying the flag?

Mail Art with surprises, I love it. Dank je wel,…

The New Alexandrian Library Boekie Collection - Additions - Theresa Williams (USA) - The Ragpicker and Torma Cauli (Hungary)

Theresa wrote a note which accompanied her beautiful book - which I really appreciate.  I know post modernism allows us free reign interpretation, but sometimes I think manners disappear in that wake. I always remain intensely curious about the first voice - the voice of the author/artist.

Theresa writes that she was excited to see I was interested in the idea…
