Received from Katerina Nikoltsou, Greece--Asemic Sandpo Trashpo Haptic Mail Art

If you took the first letter of each of these disciplines (disciplines?!  someone come over here and slap me) Asemic, Sandpo, Trashpo, Haptic, Mail Art--well it spells asthma..I'm just sayin'. And it's snowing here. Hard. (where's global warming when you need it?)… Continue

Just a quick Thank You for Val

VMH himself! ANd this is good stuff.

I have to confess, nobody I had ever heard about has ever before been the fortunate recipient of such a fun, frolicsome bit of flotsam.

Dig this: It's a MENU. So fun and interesting, and artful all the way around.

Thank You, Val, for this lovely, inspiring and surprising extra. I really needed this little…

Mail Art Journal

So I came to realize that I was running out of room on my french memory board that I made to show off the cool art I have received.

So I decided to make my own Mail Art Journal, using one sheet of 22 inches by 30 inches sheet of water color paper and converting it into a 8 by 10 journal with 16 pages. The idea came from Teesha Mores web site on how to create a journal like that. It turned out really nice.

INDUSTRY & CULTURE, CHARLEROI 1911-2011

is a project proposed by Thierry Tillier. Charleroi is a major industrial town in the Walloon (French) part of Belgium. I should correct this and change the "is" in "was". It's an industrial graveyard in fact, with high unemployment and huge crime statistics. Okay, not everything is bad but compared to other cities in Belgium it's quite nightmarih (my comments, GV)

Free size and medium. Deadline is May 20, 2011. So hurry with your contributions if you are…

From Jen Staggs - Here is a Wee Boekie

Jen asked me a VERY difficult question last year.  That was to write to her about the processes I use in my work.  My  reward – this boekie. And a Key.

A key to unlock Jen’s block.  The very kind note reads “Dear Cheryl, Here is a wee boekie you inspired me to make – the quotes are from your letter about your processes.  Thank you for helping me out of my…

Received from Lesley Magwood Fraser, South Africa--Asemics are Feathering their Nests

I never thought about feather patterns in terms of asemics, but I think it works. In fact, it opens up a whole new possibility for me: the asemics of nature. Animals have direct ways of communicating with each other, but do they also leave behind traces of… Continue

I was very happy to get this card from Grigori plus his kind words. I'm often thinking that it's time to send him something, I'm glad he didn't forget about me. It's soon royal wedding (rayal wedding?) up there in England, very topical card. And, I was…

A window to poetry - from Natercia Tomé

I received this very nice piece of photo-poetry from Natercia Tomé. I believe she is not a member of IUOMA but she has a great collection of cards on her blog les folles enveloppes. She also has an ongoing mail art call about windows, so if you are a window aficionado you can send her your favorite one. I really like her choice of (her own) photos for this card, conceptual and leaving a lot to the imagination.

Thank you…
