The Waikoa Island Post Office will issue a new series of stamps to celebrate the Waikoa Island Chess Championships, announced the Governor, Dr Sverre Hanssen, today.

The four stamps feature chess pieces. Values are: 35 tanos,70 tanos, 1 reis and 1.70 reis. Each stamp also shows the flag of the Protectorate: a Mevu flag with a large blue W superimposed.

Date of issue is 8^th April 2016. The stamps have been printed in full colour and perforated 12 gauge, by Chan Hui Shudian Printing SA, Minaue.

Collectors and others requiring stamps may order via the Waikoa Philatelic Agency, P.O. Box 3189, Auckland 1140, New Zealand. Or they can be traded with other mailartists for stamps you do!

The Mevu reis used in Waikoa Island is tied to the USA dollar. Please add an allowance for return postage to your payment.
